How to install a Mercury / Quicksilver Flo-Torq or Michigan Wheel XHS Hub Kit (Text & Video)

Below you will find a labeled cutaway of a Flo-Torq II hub kit installed in a Quicksilver Black Diamond Propeller with instructions.

The XHS, Rubex, and Flo Torq 2 hub kits fit in props that have squared off hub cavities. This includes Quicksilver, Mercury, Michigan Wheel, Powertech (NOT Cushion Lok), and Solas Rubex. Click here for an article to identify if your prop will take a square hub kit.

1. Insert Flo Torq Drive Sleeve into prop cavity with bigger hole pointing toward outdrive (the sleeve will only go in one way, there will be 4 slots in the sleeve pointing away from the gearcase).

2. Hold the thrust washer on the part of the prop closest to gearcase and slide prop and thrust washer onto the shaft (the thrust washer will only fit properly one way, it will sit in the hub cavity of the prop).

3. Put grease on the splines of the aft adapter (we recommend Quicksilver 2-4-C Marine Lube) and slide the aft adapter onto shaft splines and insert into the 4 slots in the drive sleeve (you may need to turn the prop in order to line up the slots in the drive sleeve).

4. Place tab washer on the shaft, line up the notches and tighten the nut down (different motors use different styles of tab washers or cotter pins).

5. Bend tab washer to flats of nut and you're done
